The Sasine Register (which is still current when a property has not transferred to the Land Register, applicable in many cases) provides an account of ownership from the first ownership through to current together with a referencing of every transaction that has taken place on the property (up to the point it transferred to the Land Register of which many thousands of properties have yet to do). The Sasines is a useful genealogy tool or property history account. The documents highlighted and referenced by the Sasines can also be obtained for a small additional fee per document.
